Sweet Potato Py

Sweet Potato Py is my latest adventure and I am so glad that you are here!

A public school educator for 14 years in North Carolina, I began teaching high school English (World & American Literature), Yearbook Journalism, and Teacher Cadet. After those first 7 1/2 years, I became a facilitator for gifted students at the middle and high school level for over 5 years and worked at the elementary level with gifted students. Everyone knows there are challenges when it comes to the education arena but the colleagues, students, and families make it worthwhile.

A highlight of my teaching has been the adventures I’ve been able to share with students. I’ve traveled across the country and across the world to far away places that have been once in a lifetime experiences. My students and I have traveled within North Carolina as well as to Virginia, Tennessee, New York, California, China, Costa Rica, Ireland, Puerto Rico, Belize, and the Dominican Republic. I’ve also been to England, Scotland, Spain, France, and the Bahamas. I’m changing gears a bit to pursue a PhD in English but I will find time to hop over to Hawaii this summer.

I’m the proud daughter of wonderful, hardworking parents and fortunate to have fantastic siblings and lots of amazing aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. My husband and I have three beautiful daughters who have taught many lessons on what it really means to love each other through the fun times and through the times that are much more salty than they are sweet.

Thank you for following my blogging journey! Say Hello on Facebook (@sweetpotatopy)!

Wishing you much love and many blessings,

Hannah
