Staying In
Hilton Norfolk The Main is a beautiful, 23-story hotel in downtown Norfolk, Virginia. We visited the hotel just in time for the Christmas parade so the decorations were lovely. You can watch the parade as it travels right by the hotel. The water views from our room were excellent, and the dining options inside the hotel make it possible that you don’t have to go anywhere else if you don’t feel like venturing out.
You can dine in and hear great music, sit around a firepit on the rooftop lounge, or order room service. The hotel also has an indoor pool and a fitness center that stays open 24 hours.
Going Out
A great feature of this hotel is its proximity to great shops and attractions. Step right across the street to enter Prince Books, a quaint bookstore where the girls all found books they loved. A short walk will take you to the Nauticus Maritime Museum, which had a phenomenal set up for the holidays. The food court and arcade at Waterside is also within walking distance. Here you will find Blue Moon Taphouse, The Fudgery, Stripers Waterside, Carolina Cupcakery, Guy Fieri’s Smokehouse, Cogan’s Pizza, and PBR Norfolk. The Fudgery is known for its singing candy makers, and you can grab ice cream in a ton of flavors, candy apples, and of course fudge.
